Volantis renders production facilities, offices and other buildings energy-neutral or even energy-positive. We provide support in the development of sustainable alternatives to gas consumption, such as sustainable heating and cooling systems, sustainable electricity and hydrogen technology. Volantis feels that energy-related issues must always be solved at the smallest possible level. Whatever a company can do to render itself energy-neutral will not only help the company realise its energy consumption targets, but will be beneficial to our power grid, too, in that it helps us prevent grid congestion. Volantis combines its strategic knowledge of sustainable methods and the implementation of roadmaps with its technical knowledge of construction and process installations. Volantis uses this knowledge to help businesses understand the rules and obligations they must meet, and draws up plans on how to achieve their objectives, in association with the businesses themselves.
In addition to greening companies and buildings, Volantis focuses on solving the societal issues that are at play in cities and business parks. The energy transition does not just impact companies and private citizens. It also affects public spaces. In recent years, many people have become acquainted with grid congestion and thermal energy storage.
Our holistic view on the energy transition
Volantis seeks to take an integral approach to the energy transition, in which all relevant aspects are considered so as to create an overall vision. This vision not only includes traditional components such as electricity, heat, cold and gas, but also a switch to sustainable alternatives, both at the individual-building level and at the level of the surrounding area. Our approach comprises the full spectrum of services, from optimising energy efficiency in individual buildings to designing smart grids that will provide entire neighbourhoods with green energy. Moreover, we include material-related aspects. We seek to use sustainable and renewable materials, so as to minimise the ecological footprint of our projects. We hope this holistic approach will help us expedite the energy transition, as well as help us build a more sustainable and more resilient future for all parties involved.
Sustainability initiatives
Volantis has knowledge regarding the macro level (government policies, business cases, permits) as well as the micro level (designs, calculations, implementation supervision, practical completion). We take part in many initiatives designed to expedite the energy transition, and we are involved in various types of greening projects, such as the construction of solar farms and wind farms, or the realisation of geothermal power projects. In addition, we proactively come up with new concepts, e.g. how to convert energy generated by solar panels into hydrogen, how to store electricity in batteries, or how to use hydropower and tidal power.
